2. In short
- No account, no sign-in, no ads, no cross-app tracking.
- Your plants and settings stay on your iPhone.
- Purchases run through Apple and RevenueCat; anonymous usage statistics through PostHog (EU servers).
3. Data on your device
The following is stored only on your iPhone (Apple SwiftData and app settings): your plants (species, custom name, pot size, watering/fertilizing/repotting dates, custom interval, shelf position, date added), watering history and streaks, and settings (shelf colors, reminders on/off and time, onboarding status, date of the last daily tip). There is no account, no iCloud sync and no server of our own. Deleting the app deletes this data; an iPhone backup can restore it. RevenueCat also stores an anonymous purchase ID on your device, which is required to unlock the full version. The app does not request access to camera, photos, location or contacts and does not use App Tracking (ATT).
4. Watering reminders
If you allow it, your iPhone schedules local notifications. They may contain your plants' names but never leave your device. No push server, no push tokens.
5. Purchases via Apple and RevenueCat
The full version (one-time purchase) is paid through the Apple App Store; we never receive payment details. To manage purchase status we use RevenueCat, Inc. (USA), which receives a random anonymous app user ID, Apple receipts (product, price, date, country, sandbox/production), device type, app version, language and the IP address of the request. No name or email. Purpose: verifying and restoring purchases and revenue statistics. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Transfers to the USA rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
6. Usage analytics with PostHog
To improve onboarding and the purchase screen we use PostHog (PostHog Inc., EU cloud in Frankfurt). Only the first steps in the app are measured: which onboarding screens are viewed or skipped, whether you enable reminders, how many plants you add during onboarding (count only), whether the purchase screen is shown (with the selected species) and whether a purchase is started, completed, cancelled, failed (error code only) or restored (with product and price), plus technical data: device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone, screen size and whether it is a test or App Store build. No persistent identifier is used: every full app start creates a new random session ID. The ID and unsent events stay on your device only until the next app start and are then deleted, so we cannot recognize you across sessions. On start, the app also loads a technical configuration from PostHog without any user ID. There is no link to your purchase at RevenueCat, no person profiles and no session replay. The IP address is transmitted but discarded by PostHog and not stored. Plant names, search terms, your name or email are never sent. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by switching off “Allow usage analytics” in Pflanzo's settings. Data processing agreements are in place with PostHog and RevenueCat.
7. Sharing your shelf
When you share your shelf or the app link, the image is created on your iPhone and handed to the app you choose via the iOS share sheet. We receive no data. Custom names are not shown on the image.
8. Email contact
If you email us, we process your address and message to reply. Our email provider is Zoho Mail (EU data centers).
9. This website
This website is delivered via Cloudflare, Inc., which processes technically necessary data such as IP address, time and requested page. No cookies, no tracking.
10. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR) and may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Just email us. As there are no accounts, we need your anonymous purchase ID. You'll find it in Pflanzo under Settings → Help & Feedback; “Contact” adds it to the email automatically.
